The project was procured via an Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and Design and Construct contract and involves an early works package and fit out works within the basement of the existing Eldon Hogan Performing Arts Centre at Xavier College’s Senior Campus in Kew.

Early Works

The existing basement is a cold shell space with an existing lift shaft with no lift and concrete stair access. The early works involves  civil works, the demolition of the existing internal staircase, construction of lift shaft wall, construction of a retaining wall, and penetration for lift access and stair adjacent to lift.

Fit Out Works

Following the early works, the main works involve a classroom fitout including three teaching spaces, break out spaces, support spaces and amenities, installation of a lift to the external courtyard of the Eldon Hogan Performing Arts Centre to integrate the new facilities into the existing school building. The basement fit out will feature a suspended timber structure in which the teaching spaces will be located.

IBC will maintain careful management and clear communication throughout the works to ensure there is minimal disruption to the school as the project is taking place whilst the campus remains operational.
