Villa Maria Catholic Homes (VMCH) provides a diverse range of services across Victoria to meet the needs of older people, children and adults with disabilities, their families, and carers.
Providence Aged Care in Bacchus Marsh, located less than 60 kilometers west of Melbourne, is a residential aged care facility operated by VMCH. To continue providing quality care and support an increased number of residents, the facility underwent extension and refurbishment works and is now a 99-bed residence with a memory support unit.
The development was delivered in two consecutive stages, with the first stage involving the demolition of existing buildings and landscaping followed by the construction of a new two-level building, and the second stage involving the refurbishment of the existing single-level building.
The newly built two-level facility includes a total of 59 bedrooms with ensuites, with 31 rooms on the Ground Floor and 30 rooms on the First Floor. In addition to the bedrooms, the Ground Floor houses a hair salon, café area, resident living and dining areas, clinical areas, and internal courtyards, and the remainder of the First Floor comprises more resident living and dining areas, and clinical areas.
The existing kitchen and laundry layout was demolished in the single-level building and a new extension built, creating a dementia wing, and minor refurbishment works were carried out to several areas including 40 existing bedrooms.
Both buildings were completed with new footpaths and landscaped gardens.
