Owned by the Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and managed by Villa Maria Catholic Homes, the Barnsbury Retirement Living Community in Deepdene is a lifestyle living community for over 55’s offering luxury apartments and outstanding communal facilities in a convenient location close to shops, public transport, and allied health services.

The Barnsbury Retirement Living Community was developed on the site of the former parish tennis club and comprises 32 apartments in total across four two-storey buildings with four apartments on each level and a combination of two bedrooms, or two bedrooms and a study. Each apartment features an open plan design with interior finishes including herringbone parquetry timber flooring, wool carpets, stone bench tops in the kitchen and laundry, European appliances, and gas fireplaces. The ground floor apartments include a courtyard, whilst the apartments on the first floor feature a generous balcony.

There are four lifts, one per building, that service the apartments and the basement where car parking, bicycle parking and storage is housed.

The construction involved substantial in-ground works of bored piers and screw piles, underground rainwater and detention tanks, precast concrete, suspended concrete slabs, post tensioning, structural steel, carpentry, masonry, and stonework, with extensive services works including a complex installation of electrical, mechanical, communications and data, and hydronic heating.
