The Ocean Grove Life Saving Club has patrolled the main beach at Ocean Grove every summer since 1948 and is one of the largest and most popular Surf Life Saving Clubs in Victoria.

Through a joint venture between the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club and Barwon Coast Committee of Management, the existing clubhouse on the foreshore was demolished and replaced with a new clubhouse and patrol tower, providing upgraded facilities for the club to continue offering programs to its members and maintain a safe beach environment for swimmers, surfers, and the community.

The new clubhouse spans 1800m2 across two levels with the Ground Level containing first aid facilities, sizeable female and male change rooms, training areas including a gym, and an under croft to house the Surf Life Saving equipment and vehicles, and Level 1 comprising a reception area, office and board room, the main club room, a function space, and a 600m2 tenancy space with a large terrace and public amenities.

The Patrol Tower, which is accessible from the Ground Level, was handed over ahead of the 2018/2019 surf season to allow the Ocean Grove Surf Life Saving Club to operate its beach patrols.

Upon completion of the new clubhouse, the existing carpark was restored and upgraded to include compliant disabled parking, and a new delivery and loading zone.
