The Mentone Life Saving Club boasts a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1920, with the opening of its original Clubhouse in 1928. To ensure the Club could continue to diligently serve Mentone Beach, the original Clubhouse was demolished, and the site was transformed into a foreshore precinct with a modern facility for club members, beachgoers, and the community alike.

The Club’s operations and members are now supported by new facilities, including an office, ample storage, a kitchenette, a kiosk, a fully equipped gym, changerooms, showers, and toilets, along with dining and social areas, a captivating rooftop viewing deck, and upgraded public toilets and changing rooms.

The surrounding foreshore precinct offers improved vehicle routes for MLSC operations and emergencies, a dedicated pedestrian ramp for beach access, modified parking, fresh landscaping, and substantial stormwater management to preserve the pristine bay environment.

This transformation marks a new chapter for the Mentone Life Saving Club and its pivotal role in keeping the Mentone Beach community safe.
