Luther College is set on 30 acres in Croydon Hills, approximately 30 kilometres from Melbourne, offering students a variety of programs in modern facilities, making it the ideal place to learn and grow in a Christian setting. The redevelopment of the Middle School provided new learning environments to support the college’s approach to contemporary education.
The project was delivered under an ECI Design and Construct contract and was completed while Luther College remained operational. Parts of the existing Middle School building on the campus were demolished, new areas constructed, and some existing areas refurbished, providing new learning areas and classrooms, locker hubs, a kitchen, function rooms, and reception area. The spaces were designed to aid learning and support healthy social interaction, with timber used to define the new learning landscape that sits complimentary within the existing built framework.
The Middle School won the 2019 Australian Timber Design Award – Excellence in Timber Products, Veneer Category; we extend our congratulations to Cox Architecture and Ventech Australia for this impressive achievement.
