Kingston Gardens Aged Care Home is in the heart of Springvale South and offers its residents quality care, facilities, activities, and services. Previously one single-level building, the facility was redeveloped in several stages, transforming it from a 72-bed facility into a 123-bed Aged Care Home.
A new two-storey building with a gross floor area of approximately 5,000m2 was constructed adjacent to the existing single level building in the first stage. The new building comprises a reception area, 61 bedrooms with ensuites, dining areas, clinical and healthcare facilities, beauty facilities, a theatre, a chapel, and internal courtyards for residents, as well as and office spaces for staff.
In the second stage, parts of the existing single-level building were demolished and replaced with a newly built laundry, commercial kitchen, 10 new bedrooms with ensuites, and a linkway to the adjacent two-storey facility. The remaining 52 bedrooms and ensuites were renovated, providing a total of 62-beds.
Furnishing of all areas and external works including concrete pavements, fencing, and freshly landscaped grounds were completed in the third and final stage.
