Through a partnership between the Frankston City Council and the Australian Government, a new multi-level commuter car park will be constucted opposite the Kananook Railway Station in Seaford. By improving parking facilities, more commuters will be encouraged to use trains and public transport, resulting in reduced traffic congestion and travel times on local roads across the Frankston City and Mornington Peninsula regions.

The new Kananook Commuter Car Park will have over 300 free commuter car spaces which can also be utilised by the public outside of peak commute hours, dedicated bicycle parking, a welcoming lobby area with clear and safe vehicle and pedestrian access, and it will be futureproofed for an additional level should more car parking be needed. To improve the connection between Kananook Railway Station and the nearby Frankston Basketball Stadium, landscaping and lighting enhancements will also be completed as part of the construction.
