Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Templestowe Lower is one of the largest recreation and aquatic facilities in Victoria following its redevelopment.

Stages 4, 5 and 6 of the works involved the demolition of the existing pool plant building, and the single-storey gymnasium and administration building.

Following demolition, works comprised of:

  • The construction of a new pool plant room, including the installation and commissioning of the new pool plant.
  • The construction of a new multi-storey gymnasium, administration, and dry programming room complex with a connecting elevated pedestrian sky bridge to a re-worked carpark area.
  • The refurbishment of the existing indoor pool hall, an extension of the new indoor warm water pool, and the construction of an outdoor splash and play area.
  • A new driveway entrance and landscaped areas.

Numerous trades were involved over various programmed construction stages and detailed coordination of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pool specialist trades was required for the project to be completed on time.

The facility remained fully operational throughout the construction program.
