As part of the Port Phillip Prison Expansion, this project consisted of the following works.

Building 29, Matilda Unit

A 118 bed maximum security 2 storey prison cell unit. The structure consists of 530 concrete precast panels, structural steel roof structure and an internal fitout for prison staff offices and prisoner training rooms. All services, door frames and windows will were cast into the panels. External exercise yards and landscaping will was also installed. The location of this new building requires a complicated infrastructure scope which is being installed as part of this construction. The total gross floor area of this building is 2400m2.

Central Movement Building

This structure is a combination of structural steel and blockwork constructed within the prison. The building contains high level security and facilities for the central control personnel within Port Phillip Prison. The total gross floor area of this building is 650m2.

Admissions Building

This building was a detailed refurbishment and extension to the existing admissions building. Works to this building have included after hours work to ensure minimal disruption to the operations within this area. Prisoner holding rooms, offices and interview booths and expanded double volume property storage form part of this new extension. The total gross floor area of this building is 500m2.

Industries and Education Building

This building is a portal frame structure with composite panels for the roof and walls with a gross floor area of 850m2.

Industries Building

Similar to the Industries and Education Building, this was a portal frame structure and composite panel linings. The total gross floor area of this building is 600m2.
