The former Youth Services and Inspiro Health facility has been converted into the Belgrave Community Hub; an inviting hub that combines over ten community service groups to support the residents of the Yarra Ranges through various allied community health and emergency support services.
The existing buildings and associated external areas were demolished and replaced with the new two-storey building comprising offices, multi-purpose rooms, meeting rooms, counselling rooms, reception and associated amenities, a loading bay, and a public plaza. Services offered at the facility include counselling, diabetes education, dietetics (nutritionists), physiotherapy, podiatry, social support, occupational therapy and children’s occupational therapy, children’s speech therapy, emergency relief, and maternal and child health services provided by Yarra Ranges Council.
The steel roof structure is uniquely shaped, and the façade of the building features many architectural elements including feature brickwork, patterned precast concrete, glazing, silvertop timber battens. Externally the building is completed with concrete pavements, pavers, feature crib walls, timber decking, precast concrete seating, fencing, play equipment and detailed soft landscaping works.
