During the 6 month bowling off-season Ireland Brown were engaged to refurbish the dilapidated Kew Heights Sports Clubhouse and external carpark. The property is located in the heart of Kew with three bowling greens, six tennis courts and clubhouse facilities to the local community. Our works included a preliminary investigation of the facility to highlight potential cost risks caused by working on an existing structure and a plan for how to reduce these risks.

A brief description of our building works include:

  • The refurbishment and extension of the existing clubhouse.
  •  Associated parking and landscaping.
  • Upgrade of infrastructure as required

The external facade underwent a complete redesign including a mix of alucobond cladding, shiplap timber cladding, feature iron bark posts and an engineered glass canopy roof. With the client being the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), a high level of finishes throughout the project was a priority. With long lead times on certain fixtures and fittings, programming of the works to ensure flow of work onsite was imperative. Inclusion of a lift to the upstairs function centre was also an important feature that required extensive programming to meet the completion date.
