The Indochinese Elderly Refugees Association (IERA) is a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on assisting elderly Indochinese people in their resettlement process and helps to preserve and promote their cultural heritage. The Mekong Cairnlea Vietnamese Aged Care facility is located 30 kilometers west of Melbourne and was built for the IERA of Victoria, specifically catering for Vietnamese residents.

Delivered in partnership with Visionbuilt Constructions, the new two-storey facility was built using a combination of steel, concrete and a variety of contemporary external claddings, including render, timber, stone, and brickwork, and includes 60 bedrooms, communal areas, a commercial kitchen, an internal courtyard, and basic medical services. The existing vegetation on the previously vacant site was utilised in the landscaping design.
