Ireland Brown Constructions were engaged as the head contractor to carry out the construction works to the Maintenance Workshop located at corner Millers Road and Kororoit Creek Road, Altona.

The project involved two separate portions;

Portion 1 – Construction of a new 900m2 workshop within the existing warehouse. This portion will compromise of both heavy and clean workshops, library, mechanical areas and amenities.  Major structural strengthening works to the existing building roof truss frame was also completed during this stage.

Portion 2 – Extensive demolition, structural strengthening works and new wall cladding to the existing warehouse façade.

Due to the project being located within the oil refinery, there were many technical trade elements involved as well as the building materials complying with “blast proof” regulations and chemical resistant materials in the workshop area.

This is the second project Ireland Brown Constructions has completed for ExxonMobil after having successfully delivered the MAB & CAB buildings in late 2014.
