Ireland Brown Constructions (IBC) have been engaged as the head contractor to carry out the construction works to the Maintenance Workshop located at corner Millers Rd and Kororoit Creek Road, Altona.

The project involves two separate portions;

Separable Portion 1 – Construction of a new 900m2 workshop within the existing warehouse. This potion will compromise of both heavy and clean workshops, library, mechanical areas and amenities.  There will be major structural strengthening works to the existing building roof truss frame completed in this stage.

Separable Portion 2 – Extensive demolition, structural strengthening works and new wall cladding to the existing warehouse façade.

Due to the project being located within the oil refinery, there are many technical trade elements involved these include many of the building materials are required to comply with “blast proof” regulations and chemical resistant materials in the workshop area.

IBC are looking forward to teaming up again with ExxonMobil after having successfully delivered the MAB & CAB buildings in late 2014.
