The Deakin University Burwood Campus Building W houses the staffs who administer and teach the students enrolled in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The project involved the demolition and refit-out of the Ground Floor plus a Home Lab and Store Room on the First Floor.
The fit-out was purpose built for the staff to ensure that they have the facilities required to manage and teach the School of Nursing and Midwifery efficiently and effectively.
The new construction included new offices, meeting rooms, administration areas, staff amenities room plus a refurbishment of the existing male and female toilets. The building has a variety of mobile and fixed furniture installed including latest model workstations, Italian designed and built furniture, as well as furniture made locally.
The building was occupied by the Deakin University staff however they were temporary relocated whilst the construction took place. Though the project is not staged, it was handed over in two sections so that the staff and students of Deakin University were not restricted in their use of the amenities. The first section was the refurbishment of the existing male, female and accessible toilets and the second section being the balance of the project.
This project was conducted in accordance with the Victorian State Code Compliance Guidelines.
