BER Northern Metro Package 3 comprises of one template A, one template C (Mirrored), one template J, two template K’s, and one template L (Mirrored). All buildings were stand alone projects with major infrastructure upgrades to each school.
Energy efficiency was a major factor in the design of each building; Automated louvre systems manage the internal environment with state of the art BMS controls. All power, gas and water are monitored within this BMS with the facility to set targets to reduce energy consumption. Sun shades are installed to the side windows to assist in the energy efficiency. C02 Sensors are installed to help maintain the ideal learning environment.
All buildings have lighting management systems which form part of the overall BMS system. All the fittings have been chosen for their performance in efficiency without sacrificing output.
The structure of the buildings comprise of concrete ground slab, structural steel frames and infill timber framing. The facade is a mix of corrugated iron, brick, CFC sheet and energy efficient windows.
The project was managed by Incoll Management. Through completing this project the relationship between IBC and Incoll has flourished leading to further projects part of the BER roll out.
