BRIEF PROJECT SUMMARY:

Ireland Brown Constructions were engaged to construct a new state of the art veterinary hospital within the grounds of Werribee Open Range Zoo. The new vet hospital is critical to the future plans for Werribee Open Range Zoo, being a vast improvement on the current out-dated facility.

As a standalone architecturally designed structure, the new Veterinary Clinic incorporates the full range of services and finishes expected within a medical facility. The construction and fit out works included the erection of structural steel and timber framing, and the installation of a range of external finishes. External works include the installation of a client supplied 104,000L Water Tank and paving.

All works have been undertaken within a fully operational zoo facility. This coupled with the sites location along a main interior road and the tight program, required the delivery of the building to be carefully considered and planned. Such planning ensured the safety of zoo staff and visitors was maintained.

BRIEF PROJECT SUMMARY:

Ireland Brown Constructions has been engaged by Alfred Health to undertake the demolition and refurbishment of level 6 of the Alfred Hospital’s Main Block as part of the Burns Unit upgrade.

The Burns Unit Refurbishment includes the following general scope of works:

Extensive demolition of existing services, identified walls, ceilings and floor coverings

Installation of new wall and floor linings, partitions and ceilings

Aluminium framing and glazing

Installation of joinery

Supply and installation of new services including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, nurse call and medical gases.

The project has required extensive co-ordination of construction works with neighbouring floors, patients, staff and hospital stakeholders to ensure that daily operations have proceeded without disruption, particularly in regards to noise control and site access. High levels of dust control and waste management have also been implemented to maintain hospital hygiene and sanitation standards.
