BRIEF PROJECT SUMMARY:
BER Package 46 provides a complete redevelopment of Thomastown West Primary School (13,000m2), consisting of three new BER Template buildings (A, B & F), a new administration block and an architecturally designed integrated language centre. The works will include the demolition of the existing school and the relocation and extension of existing services. The extensive landscaping package will include playgrounds and hard & soft landscaping. The structure comprises of structural steel frames with infill timber framing. The cladding is a mix of corrugated iron, brick and CFC sheet.Energy efficiency is a major factor in the design of each building. Automated louvre systems manage the internal environment with state of the art BMS controls. All power, gas and water will be monitored within this BMS with the facility to set targets to reduce energy consumption. Sun shades will be installed to the sides and tops of windows to assist in the energy efficiency.
